Southampton v Swansea Betting Tips Prediction Betting Preview By Adam Evans

Southampton v Swansea Betting Tips Prediction Betting Preview: " This Sunday lunchtime sees a fifth place Southampton host Michael Laudrup’s Swansea City at St Mary’s Stadium and we have got football tips for the match."

Going into this weekend’s fixtures, and as mentioned, Southampton lie in fifth place. They will be keen to keep their recent momentum going and will look at West Brom’s achievements last season for inspiration.

No wonder then that Mauricio Pochettino’s men are the clear favourites at 11/10. The draw comes in at 5/2 and is a bet I predict that will be snapped up by many a neutral punter.

Due to their commitments in this seasons Europa League, this match has been rescheduled to Sunday and could be one of the reasons, that Swansea are all the way out at 14/5 for an away win, which could well be worth a second look seeing as they are chasing their third away win on the trot.

For all Southampton’s early excitement into the season, including their now-famous win at Anfield, they actually currently hold the record for being involved in the lowest scoring matches as a whole (6 games). With only seven goals in six games so far this season, could Bony, Michu, and co cause them an early scare and score first. Michu has created more goal scoring chances (15) than any other player in the Premier League this season, all from open play according to Opta. He is certainly due a goal soon and I feel that he could grab one to silence the Saints early on here.

If you’ve read my previous previews then this next tip may come as a surprise to you, as it’s not something I would usually go for. Southampton are the team that have been given the fewest cards this season with their total coming in at 5 yellows and 0 red cards. In complete contrast and with the likes of Jonjo Shelvey in their ranks, Swansea have been the highest amount of yellow cards, their total being 15. That is three times more than their opponents! The Welsh club are 5/6 to pick up the first booking and I fully expect them to do so, probably within the first 30 minutes of play. It’s always nice to win a bet during the match and with Swansea looking to disrupt the inevitable early pressure from the home side this may be the best way to do so.

Southampton v Swansea Betting Tips

Michu to score first @ 13/2

Swansea to pick up the first yellow card @ 5/6
