Champions League Betting Tips Predictions Who Will Win Champions League 2014 By Lee Dooley

Champions League Betting Tips Predictions Who Will Win Champions League 2014: "It's Champions League time once again as Europe's elite face off against one another. Here's a quick breakdown of the latest betting odds and my ante-post bets."

The groups stages have been drawn and there are some tricky groups to escape from. The British teams have been handed a relatively good draw, bar the exception of Celtic who tie up with Barcelona, Ajax and Milan.

Last season was Bayern Munich's year as they claimed their 5th title, beating Bundesliga rivals Borussia Dortmund 2-1 after a 89th minute goal by Arjen Robben.Bayern are firm favourites with the bookies and a best priced 4/1, however, anyone that watched their performance against Chelsea in the Super Cup might disagree.

But write off Bayern off at your peril. The German giants are regular finalists and very rarely beaten in the Champions League. Barcelona are second favourites at 9/2 and will no doubt be there or there abouts come May.

Real Madrid are a best priced 11/2 and with Gareth Bale's services added to the squad last week, they should be hard to beat. Chelsea are the shortest priced English team at 10/1, with Manchester United and Manchester City following just behind at 14/1 and 16/1 respectively. Arsenal are as big as 33/1 with most major bookmakers.

Last years beaten finalists and surprise package Borussia Dortmund can be backed at a big 22/1.

Thats the main contenders to lift the trophy, and its hard to find reasons to back anyone else to win it. Of the remaining teams 24 teams, PSG are the strongest and should progress through the group stages with relative ease. They are a best priced 8/13 to win Group C.

Porto now, and they are 2/1 to win Group G, which for me is real value and one I'll be taking on. I expect all 4 English teams to progress past the group stages and that can be backed as big as 11/8.

The only worry with that bet is how Man City can develop in Europe and whether they can escape the group stage for the first time in their history. The Citizens are stronger than last year and should have no problem (on paper) getting past this stumbling block.

There is an intriguing match bet available through William Hill, and it's one that interests punters and the media every season. It's the old Messi vs Ronaldo Goal Match Bet. Messi is favourite at 4/9 and Ronaldo 13/8, and for the life of me I can't work out what the traders are thinking on this one.

Ok, Messi has picked up the top scorer award in the Champions League more times than Ronaldo, but what we have to look at here is the group stages and historically where the majority of goals will come from.

Barca are placed in a much trickier Champions League group, while Madrid's biggest test will be against Juventus, who are a shadow of their former glories. Ronaldo to win the match bet is an absolute treat of a bet and my bet of the Champions League at 13/8.

Finally, my Champions League winner betting tip, and it's possibly one of the hardest years to pick a winner. However, I'm going for Real Madrid at 11/2 to win this years Champions League.

With Christiano Ronaldo and Gareth Bale joining forces at the Santiago Bernabéu Stadium, Madrid will have real strike force that little of the top clubs will be able to rival.

Champions League Ante-Post Betting Tips

Premier League Centre 728x90 Marseille vs Arsenal Prediction and Betting Tips By Andrew Clark

Arsenal get their Champions League campaign underway against Marseille tonight and we have free football tips for their match.
Arsenal cruised into the knock-out stages thanks to a 5-0 aggregate win over Fenerbache and have a great record in France, going unbeaten in their last ten matches, winning six including the last five. In the latest betting odds for the match Arsenal are 8/5, the draw is 12/5 at Bet365 and Marseille are 11/5 with Winner. Marseille have not won in their last two matches, drawing 1-1 in Toulouse and prior to that getting beat 2-1 at home to Monaco and they don’t have the best of records against English teams. They have only won one of their last ten meetings with Premier League opposition and have only scored seven goals in 14 games against English opposition, never scoring more than once in a match. Marseille lost their last three Champions League matches last season and have only won one of their last four at home, and scored one goal in that time (vs Inter Milan). That run includes a 1-0 defeat to Arsenal. The stats all point to an Arsenal win here, possibly without Marseille getting on the scoresheet but the Gunners have only kept two clean sheets in their last 24 Champions League matches away from home. That makes the both teams to score bet an uncertainty but since their loss to Aston Villa Arsenal have kept three clean sheets in the last five matches. Both teams to score is 4/5, and both teams not to score is 11/10. For a first goalscorer bet Oliver Giroud is hard to ignore at 6/1, he has been on fire this season and already has five goals to his name this season, scoring the first goal on four of those occasions. Taking into account Betfred are double delight/hat-trick heaven on this match he is a must bet, if he scores first then again in the match you will get paid at double the odds, a hat-trick gets you treble odds. For a second bet it’s very simple, Arsenal have a great record against French opposition and are a fantastic price to win at 8/5. You can also get better odds by backing Giroud to score in an Arsenal win at 7/2. Arsenal v Marseille Betting Tips Arsenal to win – 8/5 Giroud to score – 6/1 Giroud to score and Arsenal to win – 7/2

AC Milan vs Celtic Prediction and Champions League Betting Tips

Wednesday evening sees the UEFA Champions League return for AC Milan and Scottish champions Celtic. After a sluggish start for Milan domestically, they will be hoping for better success in match day 1 of the European competition.
With a late effort against Torino at the weekend, Milan were fortunate to salvage a draw in a game that they never really had a grasp on and didn’t really deserve the point. They cannot afford to start slowly against a Celtic side who have won 4 and drawn 1 of their opening league fixtures albeit in a less competitive division. Confidence will be high in the Celtic dressing room and on away nights like these they have nothing to lose, coming in as the underdogs. AC Milan are the 8/15 favourites to win the match with Bet Victor, the draw is 7/2 and Celtic are 7/1 to pick up another faous Champions League win. Celtic may even prefer being the underdogs as there will be less pressure on them as all eyes will be on the AC Milan team who have superstars such as Mario Ballotelli and Robinho and favourites such as Kaka and El Shaarawy who have both been ruled out with injuries. Kaka’s guile and creativity along with the ability to make the killer pass will be sorely missed against a side that will surely play with a lot of men behind the ball so I don’t think this will be a high scoring game. The responsibility of the goals will be laid upon Mario Ballotelli for AC Milan who, when in form, is very, very difficult to stop. Celtic have a selection of goalscorers in their team such as Kris Commons and Anthony Stokes, who have both started the SPL season brightly scoring 4 goals each. The game plan for Celtic, I believe, will be looking for breaks on the counter attack so if they can get the ball up to Commons and/or Stokes effectively, then both strikers have the composure in front of goal to cause Milan some problems. However that may be difficult to break quickly with the injury of Scotland winger James Forrest who has had a very promising start to the season. Personally, I fancy a draw in this game as I think Celtic will be hard to break down and AC Milan haven’t lit up Serie A so far this season. Time will tell how AC Milan approach the game with the attacking talent they have at their disposal. AC Milan vs Celtic Betting Tips Under 2.5 goals - 10/11 Match draw - 7/2

Napoli v Borussia Dortmund Betting Tips and Prediction By Lockup Tipster

If you have read some of the other previews on the Champions League, this is another game which is a first competitive encounter between the sides. The German runners up make the visit to Italy to match day one installed as the odds against favourites. This is Napoli’s second campaign, making the 2011/12 campaign all the way to the last 16 and in the eight games they have played in Champions League competition have scored in every game. Napoli have won the last two games, with the away side unbeaten since their loss to Bayern Munich 2-1 and will be fancied by some to look towards another lengthy campaign. Dortmund have an excellent stiker Robert Lewandowski, who was speculated on a transfer out of Germany but remains a relied upon figure in the Dortmund set up. He is assuming he plays 5/1 for first goal scorer, although considering the first and last goalscorer, it always makes most sense from a betting perspective to go with the last goal scorer market. On this occasion the price is the same, and 11/8 to net anytime in 90 minutes. Both teams to score is 4/6, with BetVictor going 5/6 on over 2.5 goals. This is what we are going with, as all of Napoli’s last six in the form guide have gone over this figure and should again! Napoli v Borussia Dortmund Betting Tip Over 2.5 goals – 5/6

Barcelona vs Ajax Betting Tips and Match Prediction By Lockup Tipste

Barcelona are very short to win the game at a mere 1/6 and welcome the Dutch giants Ajax over, for what could be a goal feast and we have free Champions League betting tips.
Will there be many takers of the 20/1 upset? We do not think so, but you will not get rich from a 6/1 ON shot. According to the stats these two teams have never met. Barcelona should have re-focussed over the summer break and reflect in remaining unbeaten in competition this term. Ajax have suffered a single loss. Barcelona have made at least the semi finals on all of the last six attempts and hold the longest run in Champions League history. Ajax are not quite the force they once were perceived as and will be aware that Barcelona have not won any of their last four Champions League matches but have a bad run against Spanish sides in European competition losing all of the last eight, and conceding in the last seven Champions League games conceding nineteen goals in the process. We cannot rely on the Barcelona defence to warrant a win to nil. Barcelona are good at starting games off quickly, so the bet of over 1.5 goals in the first half at 17/20 with Bet365 appeals on the basis of home advantage and clinical play. Barcelona v Ajax Betting Tips Over 1.5 first half goals – 17/20

Chelsea vs Basel Prediction and Champions League Betting Tips By Thats a Goal

Our Champions League betting tips are back! The greatest club competition in the world returns to our TV screens this week and boy have we missed it.
This opening round of group stage fixtures throws up an intriguing tie for last season's Europa League winners, Chelsea, who host Swiss side FC Basel at Stamford Bridge. It was only in May that these two teams were squaring-off over two legs in the semi-final of last season's second-tier European competition - the Europa League. That match-up saw Chelsea emerge as 5-2 winners on aggregate - having won the second leg at Stamford Bridge 3-1 - and so reach the final in Amsterdam; where they triumphed over Benfica to claim back-to-back European titles - having so impressively lifted the Champions League trophy the season before. How about a wager on that same scoreline - William Hill are offering great odds of 12/1 on a 3-1 victory for Chelsea. And so to boss Jose Mourinho, again re-united with Chelsea after his treble-winning stint at Inter Milan, followed by a mixed 3 years in the Spanish Capital; during which a glaring omission was a European title. The Champions League is one of the few titles which eluded his first successful managerial reign at Chelsea and the Portugese will be desperate to take the Blues to European glory for a third season in a row and so become the first ever manager to win three Champions League titles with three different clubs. One star forward Mourinho will be relying on if he is to achieve success this season, Belgian Eden Hazard, would seem a great betting tip for first goalscorer in this game at 8/1. Basel, meanwhile, are reigning Swiss champions and, despite losing both their home and away legs to Chelsea in those Europa League semis last season, should provide a stern opening test for a Chelsea side still finding their feet under the new boss with a new raft of players, as Sunday's 1-0 loss at Everton demonstrated. A score draw could well be on the cards - and Bet Victor are offering great odds on 1-1 at 21/2. Chelsea vs Benfica Betting Tips 1 - 1 Draw @ 21/2
