Portuguesa vs Goias betting tips by Isaiah

Portuguesa got the victory over Santos with the 3:0 result at home last weekend, with a scoreline opened in 16th minute by Luis, while Gilberto added two more goals in the second half-time for the final three goals difference victory. It was their fourth victory in last five matches and seventh in last ten games, as the team also has six home three pointers in a row, last four without conceding a single goal.
With such a good run, it was easy for them to get away from the relegation zone, but after yesterday’s result the team still remains in a very dangerous situation. Although they are at eleventh position, six places away from the relegation zone, the difference is only two points and the team will have to continue playing at the same level at least for a bit more. Coach change seems to have helped the club a lot, as Guto Ferreira has eight victories since he took the club, earning 27 out of 34 points Portuguesa have earned. However, he remained humble, saying that he only raised the morale of the players, while they are the ones who are responsible for better results. Offensive player Romao (3/1) remains long-term injuries, same as midfielders Muralha (1/0), Lucas Silva (2/0), Ivan (4/0) and Diogo (18/4), all long term injuries that didn’t influence team performances a lot this season, except the last one. Coach is likely to field up the same players that defeated Santos in easy way few days ago. Goias, on the other side, failed to exploit advantages of their own ground and had drew against Criciuma 1:1 last weekend. Hosts conceded a goal early and although they have equalized before the end of the first halftime, they were unable to react in the second part and achieve the three pointer. It was third consecutive game for the team that they have failed to win, losing previously to Vitoria away from home and at home to Fluminense. Exactly the same as their tonight’s opponent, they are also only two points away from the relegation position, while the coach Moreira admitted that his team is struggling in all matches they play saying that after a good period, the team is showing decline in form. His position as a first team coach remains questionable at the moment and will heavily depend on the results in next weeks. Central defender Hernando (28/1) is still out, same as substitute goalkeeper Pedro Henrique who made only one performance this season. Portuguesa have won their last six home matches in Brasileirão, keeping a clean sheet in last four matches. There have been over 2.5 goals scored in Goias’s last three away games in Brasileirão. Portuguesa is in a much better form at the moment, especially at home where they look to be really strong. Betting on home victory seems to be the most logical choice as the teams are in the same position, having the same motive, but with the hosts looking much better in all the aspects of football game. Bet: Portuguesa Wins
