Oxford vs Portsmouth betting tips 8 October Football League Trophy: "Oxford dissapointed last Saturday losing at home by Southend with the score of 0-2, a result that put them down in the fourth position in the league rankings of League Two. Southend proved more effective and scored two goals in the first 30 minutes, while Oxford tried to get back into the game, had opportunities to score but failed to score."
Oxford is unbeaten away from home but constantly losing points at home where they ignore the victory for four consecutive league games. For today’s game they will miss suspended key defender Andy Whing (8 games), key defender Jake Wright (6 games) and midfielder Jon Meades (still without participation).
Portsmouth returned to winning ways last Saturday when they welcomed Rochdale and won easily with the score of 3-0. Portsmouth dominated the first half and lost many additional opportunities to expand their lead, while Rochdale were vulnerable in defense and accepted two more goals in the second half.
For Portsmouth this was only the second home win in five games and with this result they restored the good atmosphere in their club, breaking off the negative two consecutive defeats. They appeared much improved compared with the defeat at York (4:2) and they satisfied with the stability of the defense, as they did not accepted a goal after seven consecutive games.
Regular midfielder Simon Ferry (9 games, 1 goal) is out of the squad due to injury, while top scorer David Connolly (7 games, 4 goals) will miss too due to injury.
Both teams having great units in attack to their disposal and they are scoring a lot till now. Oxford with Kitson, Constable and Smalley, while Portsmouth have too many options with Agyemang, Craddock and Barcham. I think that there will be goals to this knock out game for Johnstone’s Paint Trophy.
Bet: Over 2.5 Goals
